Lawmakers in California are attempting to secure the votes of illegal immigrants by offering shelter to criminals.
In a recent interview with Bill O’Reilly, President Trump said, “I am very much opposed to sanctuary cities. They breed crime, there are a lot of problems. If we have to, we will defund. We give tremendous amounts of money to California. California in many ways is out of control.”
The American taxpayers are under no obligation to provide money to a state that refuses to follow federal law.
Bill O’Reilly posed the question of defunding the entire state in light of a recent Senate bill on the floor in California. The senate has already passed the bill designating California a sanctuary state. The bill is now before the state assembly. (via Breitbart)
The bill will block California law enforcement from questioning residents about their immigration status. It also prevents local law enforcement from using their resources to aid federal agents in their investigations.
The bill, which is profoundly anti-American, attempts to protect illegal aliens from federal authorities, and will block agents from being allowed to interview residents held in police custody in California.
Senator Kevin de Leon introduced the bill and defended its passage claiming it is a “rejection of President Trump’s false and cynical portrayal of undocumented residents as a lawless community.”
This is a remarkably ignorant statement from a lawmaker. Illegal (not undocumented) residents are criminal by definition. They are inherently a lawless community because they broke the law in coming to this country without our permission.
Kevin de Leon, and every other Democrat lawmaker, is going to have to answer to their constituents for this. When the taps run dry in California because senators decided to protect criminals over Americans, they will be forced to answer for their crimes.
California is free to promote lawlessness in their own state, but it WILL lead to their inevitable ruin. The federal government doesn’t need to condone their lawlessness with federal funding, or go down with their ship.
It’s clear California doesn’t care about the union, when they so obviously don’t support federal law enforcement. We should cut their funding and wait for them to come crawling back.
